Judging Panels

Each category respectively has its jury panel and each jury panel is responsible for selecting the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Nomination Award winners within the category. Each jury panel consists of world-leading designers, managers of design organisations, editors of design magazines or digital media, or professors of leading design institutes from different countries and cities. Jury members are nominated by supporting organisations and the SDA Academic Committee and invited by the SDA Organising Committee. Introduction of jury members will be announced on the official website at least one month before the judging dates. The chairmen and vice-chairmen of each jury are elected by the judges at the first review meeting.

The Chairman of the jury panel will be responsible for convening theassessment meetings, monitoringthe assessment procedure and announcing the final results.

The chairmen and vice-chairmen of four Juries will form the special final jury and name the winner of the"Special Award for Sustainable Development”.

Members of the jury panel should not enter the competition. If an entry is a project designed by a judge or involving a judge or a project by an entrant who has previously cooperated with a judge or is currently cooperating with a judge, the judge may NOT participate in the review of this entry.

JUDGING CRITERIA

original, experimental, exploratory and forward-looking; proposing creative ideas for future development;

public-oriented, practical, eco-friendly and recyclable; proposing newurban living concepts;

pioneering, dynamic, facilitative and transformative; improving theefficiency of industrial development;

influential,attracting wide international attention.

Criteria for Sustainable Development Special Award refer to the 15 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the 2030 Agenda promoted by the UNESCO. The award goes to the project that can best help realize these goals.

ENTER BY NOMINATION

The organizer will invite world-leading architects, designers, professional magazines or publication editors, and professional organizations to nominate projects. A maximum of 20 individual nominators are invited for each category. Each individual nominator can nominate a maximum of 5 projects, and each institutional nominator can nominate a maximum of 10 projects. The nominated projects will go directly to the final judging. The list of nominators (individuals and institutions) will be posted on the official website in due course.

The nominated projects and related materials must be fully registered and uploaded online before 9 February , 2020 . Tangible projects must be arranged in advance, delivered in time in order to arrive before the deadline 7 March, 2020.
